The Promise of Easter

Read: St. Matthew 28:1-8

“The third day he shall rise again.” St. Mark 10:34

Among hundreds of Bible prophecies miraculously fulfilled, this is the most wonderful. “He shall rise again.” The cornerstone teaching of our Christian faith is this promise and hope. It is based squarely on God’s Word.

Early in the morning the friends of Jesus with singing souls repeated the wonderful Easter message told them by the angels. “Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee.” We can rejoice in that truth every morning and day of our life. We can go and live victoriously in the assurance that the Risen Savior is with us each day and hour of our life to help us conquer the challenges of life.

Christ is risen indeed! It’s a proved fact; a thrilling theme; a glorious truth that all believers should boldly affirm to His glory. Never should we allow unbelievers or doubting Thomases to shake our faith in Easter.

We are co-workers with the Risen Christ unto eternal life. He will give us strength to rise over sin and temptation, ever to live for Him with victory songs in our hearts, even in death.

Thanks be to God for Easter!

I know that my Redeemer lives,
What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
Living and loving Friend, keep me in the Christian faith.
Help me to live for Thee. Amen.
